ANTI-PREJUDICE TOOLS: CAIR’s Unhostile Campus Campaign Newsletter

CAIR’s Unhostile Campus Campaign Newsletter

This newsletter is part of CAIR’s Unhostile Campus Campaign, a project aimed at fostering a campus environment where Palestinian, Muslim, Arab, Jewish, and other students, faculty, and staff opposing the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza enjoy free speech and academic freedom and are not subjected to state force or university discipline due to their viewpoints. The campaign challenges rising institutional hostility toward Muslim students both in higher education and now, increasingly, in K–12 schools. This newsletter offers insights, tools, and civil rights updates to help K-12 educators better support students of all backgrounds.

In this edition, you’ll find:

  • A message on why schools must recognize Eid-ul-Adha with the same respect given to other major holidays
  • A legal update on CAIR’s lawsuit against a district retaliating against a teacher supporting Palestinian students
  • Downloadable educator tools, including CAIR’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices and our Guide to Bullying and Bias in Schools
  • Resources to help your school request accommodations and promote faith-based inclusion
