Huzaifa Shahbaz

Huzaifa Shahbaz is a Research and Advocacy Coordinator at the Council on American-Islamic Relations National Headquarters. Before joining CAIR, he was a Next Leader Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies, where he tracked, monitored, and analyzed U.S. military spending. He was also a Summer Fellow and Research Assistant with the Othering and Belonging Institute at UC Berkeley, where he researched the global rise of ethnonationalism. Prior to that, he served as a researcher and data analyst with the No Place like Home Project at UC Santa Cruz, where he studied the local housing crisis. Huzaifa holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from UC Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in Islamic Studies from the Graduate Theological Union.
