MZ Foundation

Type: Private Family Foundation

The MZ Foundation is a California-based private family foundation founded by real estate magnate Myron Zimmerman in the 1990s with the purpose to fight anti-Semitism and advance pro-Israel advocacy. The Foundation provides financial support to groups including the Zionist Organization of America and the Central Fund of Israel. Since 2012, Zimmerman has contributed more than $1 million to fund Israeli settlements in the West Bank region.

From 2014 to 2016, the MZ Foundation has poured nearly $1.5 million into more than a dozen anti-Muslim hate groups. Grants included $225,000 to the David Horowitz Freedom Center, $187,500 to the Middle East Forum, and $180,000 to the Investigative Project on Terrorism. The MZ Foundation also boasts its aggressive support for organizations dedicated to misinforming the public about Islam and Muslims such as the Gatestone Institute, the Lawfare Project, and ACT for America.

Concerned Women for America

Concerned Women for America (CWA) is a public policy women’s group that has engaged in anti-Islam legislative efforts in at least Florida and North Carolina. This group hosts anti-Islam speakers at their events.

David Horowitz Freedom Center

The David Horowitz Freedom Center (DHFC) is a far-right anti-Muslim think tank that is notorious for “giving anti-Muslim voices and radical ideologies a platform to project hate and misinformation.” Founded in 1988 by David Horowitz, the Freedom Center has amassed substantial financial backing, receiving nearly $36 million in funding between 2017 and 2021.
