James Lafferty is the president of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Taskforce. In a February 2012, Lafferty said he expressed pride in “…pictures of some mosque somewhere, and it was usually in the South I’m proud to say where a guy would drive a pickup truck right into the mosque…”

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, has designated an initial three universities as “institutions of particular concern” due to their threat toward the safety of Palestinian, Arab, Muslim, Jewish, and other students and faculty who stand against occupation, apartheid, and genocide. These three universities are The George Washington University (GWU), the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and Emory University.

CAIR received 8,061 complaints nationwide in 2023, marking the highest number of complaints CAIR has ever recorded in its 30-year history. Nearly half of all complaints received in 2023 were reported in the final three months of the year.
