Allegheny Foundation

The Allegheny Foundation is one of a group of three grantors known collectively as the Scaife Foundations. The Foundation “concentrates its giving in the Western Pennsylvania area and confines most of its grant awards to programs for historic preservation, civic development and education.” Over a five-year period, $600,000 was gifted to the David Horowitz Freedom Center whose president believes Islam “is a sick death cult.” The Freedom Center lists anti-Muslim activist Robert Spencer’s Jihad Watch, a key organization in the U.S. Islamophobia Network, among its projects.
