Bryan Fischer

Bryan Fischer is the Director of Issue Analysis at the American Family Association (AFA).

In blog posts, Fischer has called for an end to Muslim recruiting by the military, an end to immigration by Muslims, and notoriously claimed that Native American’s live in poverty because they have not accepted Christianity.

In addition to his work with the AFA, Fischer is the host of conservative radio program Focal Point.

His words:

  • In 2013 Fischer said, “If we are in the Last Days, then Islam is clearly the religion that Satan is promoting to be the counterfeit alternative to Christianity.”
  • “[The Founders] weren’t providing any cover or shelter for the free exercise of Islam or even Judaism or even atheism. They weren’t saying you can’t do it, I want to be clear on that, they weren’t prohibiting that, they were just saying that is not what we are talking about here. Islam has no fundamental First Amendment claims, for the simple reason that it was not written to protect the religion of Islam.” He later added, “The First Amendment was written by the Founders to protect the free exercise of Christianity. They were making no effort to give special protections to Islam. Quite the contrary.”
  • On September 11, 2012, Fischer wrote, “First, we must understand that the threat to our freedoms comes not from radical Islam but from Islam itself. While there may be moderate Muslims in America, there is no such thing as moderate Islam.”
