(NEW YORK, N.Y., 7/27/2021) – The New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today condemned another anti-Muslim attack in Queens. The attack was the third in a series of anti-Muslim attacks carried out by the same alleged aggressor.
On July 25, the suspect harassed a 38-year-old Muslim woman on Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens. The suspect made several anti-Muslim remarks and pulled a knife on the woman.

In a statement, CAIR-NY Executive Director Afaf Nasher said:
“We are disturbed and upset by the fact that the same alleged perpetrator has been able to carry out a third, violent anti-Muslim attack. We urge the NYPD to intensify its search due to the repeated and escalating violence of this alleged aggressor. We also ask the community to help identify the suspect in order to prevent any further anti-Muslim attacks from taking place.
“There is absolutely no place for such violence and bigotry in our community. Anti-Muslim attacks are on the rise and more needs to be done to bring the perpetrators of such attacks to justice.”
CAIR-NY urges anyone with information to contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-8477 or for Spanish, 1-888-577-4782. Tips can also be submitted online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com or to the NYPDTips Twitter account.
