CAIR EDITS, THEN REMOVES VIDEO FROM ITS WEBSITE
VIDEO CONTAINED OUTRAGEOUS QUOTE FROM CAIR-FL SPOKESMAN BEDIER
ABOUT PALESTINIAN ISLAMIC JIHAD
(Coral Springs, FL) Yesterday, Americans Against Hate (AAH) issued a press release regarding how the Communications Director of the Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Ahmed Bedier, said that, prior to 1995, there was "nothing immoral" about the Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The evidence of this was found on a video of a local Tampa Bay television show that Bedier had been featured on last week, WTVT's 'Your Turn with Kathy Fountain.' The video had been placed on the homepage of CAIR-Florida's website.
According to credible sources, following AAH's press release, CAIR edited the offending quote out of the video. A short time after that, CAIR removed the entire video from its site.
When it was determined that CAIR removed the video, AAH placed the unedited version of the video on its website, so that the public was able to view the evidence. It was only after AAH placed the video on its site that CAIR put the full version of the video back on its website, where it is at this moment.
CAIR has a history of doctoring material on its website. In September of 2005, CAIR had placed, on its site, a picture photographed at an interfaith candlelight vigil the group had taken part in. Prior to the picture being placed on CAIR's site, the photo had included three women with uncovered hair. Using a computer program, CAIR proceeded to superimpose hijabs (head coverings) on the women. Just as in the case of the Bedier video, when CAIR's photo was outed, CAIR replaced the doctored picture with the original.
AAH Chairman Joe Kaufman stated, "The way CAIR has reacted to the Bedier video shows just how deceitful the group is. We hope that this incident wakes up those in the media that have previously painted CAIR as a legitimate news source. CAIR must be shown for the dangerous fraud that it is."
